Canvasser Agreement
1. Independent Contractor Status
By accepting opportunities through the Knock AI mobile application, you agree to perform canvassing services as an independent contractor—not as an employee, agent, or partner of Knock AI or any campaign customer. You control when and whether to accept opportunities, subject to campaign requirements. You are responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and equipment unless otherwise stated.
2. Payment Terms
Compensation is disclosed per opportunity before acceptance. Standard payout is calculated on a per-door basis for verified contacts, plus any published boost multipliers for priority campaigns or peak demand. Payouts are processed through the platform after verification. Knock AI may withhold payment for disputed, fraudulent, or incomplete contacts. Minimum payout thresholds and processing schedules are shown in the app.
3. Background Check Consent
Participation requires passing a background check administered by Checkr or another authorized consumer reporting agency. By applying, you consent to collection and use of information for this purpose and acknowledge receipt of the FCRA Disclosure. Failure to pass or refusal to complete a background check may result in deactivation.
4. GPS Tracking Consent
During active shifts, the app collects precise GPS location to verify door contacts, confirm route compliance, and support safety features. Location is collected only while a shift is active unless you explicitly enable additional features. By starting a shift, you consent to this collection. See our Privacy Policy for retention details.
5. Code of Conduct
While representing a campaign, you must:
- Follow all campaign scripts, instructions, and applicable laws
- Treat residents, property, and fellow agents with respect
- Accurately record contact outcomes—no falsified doors or survey responses
- Wear identification or materials as required by the campaign
- Refrain from political advocacy beyond the assigned campaign message
- Not solicit personal information beyond campaign requirements
6. Safety
You are responsible for your personal safety in the field. Do not enter private property without permission. Leave immediately if you feel threatened. Use in-app safety features and contact local authorities in emergencies. Knock AI is not liable for injuries or incidents occurring during independent contractor activities.
7. Fraud
Prohibited conduct includes GPS spoofing, fake door contacts, identity misrepresentation, sharing account credentials, and collusion to inflate metrics. Confirmed fraud results in immediate deactivation, forfeiture of pending payouts, and potential referral to law enforcement.
8. Deactivation Policy
Knock AI may deactivate your account for background check failure, conduct violations, low quality scores, customer complaints, fraud, or inactivity. You may deactivate voluntarily at any time. Deactivation does not entitle you to pending payouts that fail verification.
9. Dispute Resolution & Arbitration
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY — THIS AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS. Except for claims that may be brought in small-claims court, any dispute arising out of or relating to this Agreement, your services, or your relationship with Knock AI will be resolved by final and binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association, rather than in court. YOU AND KNOCK AI WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO BRING OR PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS, COLLECTIVE, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION, AND EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS ONLY IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY. You may opt out of this arbitration provision by emailing legal@knockai.co within 30 days of first accepting this Agreement. Nothing here waives any right that cannot be waived by law.
